You Can't See-Saw by Yourself
  • Life is like a see – saw! Playing on a see saw is just not very productive or fun if you don’t have someone to play with.

  • You can’t get to the top by yourself! It took tons of supplies, equipment and food to get two men to the top of Mt. Everest. They did not carry it themselves. Neil Armstrong walked on the moon because of the efforts of thousands of men and women that will only see pictures of it. A person does not win unless the team does.

  • Life is a game and we are the team – Not everyone can pitch and not everyone can hit homeruns, but a team that does not have all of its positions covered by a dedicated player, will lose. Some folks like football, some like soccer. Before you start playing make sure you know what the ball looks like and that you’re on the right team.

  • Taking Care of the Team – We are each accountable to ourselves and responsible to those around us: whether we like it or not.

  • Solitaire – Solitaire is one of the few games you can play by yourself. Sometimes it is pleasant to sit by yourself, entertain yourself and visit with yourself. You will usually learn something you did not know, like how smart you are. By analyzing yourself and knowing how to improve, you can be a better team player.

  • Success on a merry-go-round – When you first push a merry-go-round it’s hard to get it started. If you’re by yourself, it’s really hard. If you have someone helping you, it is a lot easier.

  • Not everyone can or wants to play in our sand box! The world is made up of a lot of different people. We don’t all like the same things or see things in the same way. Sometimes we give importance to people that will never be what we want them to be.

  • Don’t give to malice what stupidity should own! People tend to follow their own conscience, even if they are unconscious! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, no matter how foolish it is. You don’t have to change the rules, you have to change opinion.

  • If you can’t follow, you will never lead! Leadership starts where you are standing. We don’t have to wait for the Boss to get his act together, if we have our act together. Loyalty is something that we all want but we don’t all give. Nattering and gossip are poison to any organization.
